Our Christmas travel this year was cancelled. So I decided the house needed to feel like Christmas.
I took a stocking making class at my local quilt shop (Fashion Fabrics of Mt. Pleasant) and it was so much fun. I am not into quilting so I was pretty impressed at how much I enjoyed the class and the stocking. I immediately decided to make some new stockings for the mantel. The shop had some gorgeous tradional prints that I just had to have.
The stockings I made were done from strips of fabric. I chose to do both the front and the back strip style. It was so easy. Rip or cut your strips, sew them together on batting, quilt it and voila. Well, not exactly, but I promise it was not hard at all. The idea came from the June Tailor quilt as you go pattern.
I liked this fabric so much that I made a matching tree skirt and ordered a custom made wreath from Elizabeth Home and Wreaths.
